Howden

This project was to replace an old concrete plant on the eastern side of Newcastle, near to the Tyne Tunnel. This project required our input from the initial planning stages. We carried out a feasibility exercise looking at the influences of different plant systems and checked vehicle routes in and out of the site and how this would work in the space available. We also provided advice on ground improvement and designed foundations, pits and other substructures. Our final design included a surface water drainage system and water recycling as there were no permitted surface water discharges at the site.
