Balliol Business Park

Let to a major construction contractor as a regional centre, the architectural concept was for a 3-sided box with a roof jutting out between the box ends and a glazed facade to the front elevation. The site, on a small industrial park in Newcastle, was constrained in a narrow triangle between a masonry office block and parkland including a stream. This made the engineering difficult, but following thorough site investigation our engineers developed a piled solution. We also designed the steel frame and ground floor slabs, provided drainage details and developed external paving plans. During the construction phase we provided assistance and supervision to the site engineers.
